Since 2007, BMO has helped Bow Valley College change students’ lives and empower them on their road to success by providing wrap-around supports, which has included mentorship, tutoring and experiential learning opportunities. With over $300,000 contributed, we are proud to have BMO as a steadfast partner that continues to help our students launch, advance and evolve their careers.
This extensive history began with the establishment of the first-ever BVC Distinguished Speaker Series and was followed by the launch of the BMO Centre for Experiential Learning in the Chiu School of Business.
Beyond the financial support, BMO has become personally involved with our students through the BMO Mentorship Program which pairs Business Administration Diploma students with employees to foster professional development in personal branding, interview skills and networking. This has been invaluable to helping our students become career-ready upon graduation, and there have been many alumni who have gone on to be hired by BMO because of this opportunity.
On March 18, 2025, we welcomed leadership from BMO to our campus to showcase the incredible impact their partnership has on our students. We also did a cheque presentation for their most recent commitment, which will see our partnership continue over the next two years towards mentorship and peer tutoring programs through Learner Success Services and experiential learning opportunities., There will also be the creation of an endowment to provide sustained funding towards providing financial assistance for Indigenous students and those enrolled in the Chiu School of Business.
During their visit, highlights included learning about the important academic and cultural supports available through the Iniikokaan Centre, our newly opened Esports Arena, and the cutting-edge technology our students have access to within the Centre for Entertainment Arts, the pharmacy technician labs, and the simulation and virtual reality equipment used in the Practical Nursing program.
BMO’s commitment to working with the college to inspire the leaders of tomorrow is in alignment with their Zero Barriers to Inclusion 2025 multi-year strategy that focuses on supporting equity and inclusion for groups facing systemic barriers including Indigenous communities.
“This expansive support from BMO over time has not only enhanced the student experience and helped them find success after graduation, but it has also fostered a culture of innovative thinking, inclusion, and empowerment within our campus community,” says Bart Chudleigh, Dean, Chiu School of Business.
We are grateful to BMO for being a part of our impact that is felt locally and globally.
